Today, I’ll be answering the question of how a super empath deals with a narcissist. Before we begin, let’s address something about all these terms, all these labels like empath, super empath. These terms may keep you stuck because you might believe there’s a specific antidote for dealing with a narcissist or something you need to shield yourself from being drawn into a toxic relationship. You may also believe that the fact that you’re a super empath, or whichever term you choose to identify with, is what attracts you to toxic relationships and that there’s nothing you can do about it. The most common explanation of a super empath is that they possess heightened levels of empathy and sensitivity, often being keenly attuned to the emotions and energies of those around them.

Labels Are Cages

Something about your mind is it loves these labels so that it can justify something. Because I actually interacted with a client the past couple of months and the client was telling me like, “Oh, it’s because I’m an empath I’m doing this.” Actually, there’s nothing like because I’m an empath that I’m attracting narcissists or because I’m an empath I do feel the energies of others and then by feeling the energies of others I want to take care of them.

There’s nothing like that. It’s just a very, very fancy label, which is getting a lot of traction lately. But if you really dig deeper, you realize that there’s no connection between empathy and attracting toxic energy. It’s just your underlying issues. It’s just that you’ve not really worked on your stuff. You’ve not really worked on your unhealed wounds. You don’t understand your boundaries.

It doesn’t matter if you identify yourself as a super empath or any other label; what truly matters is whether you’ve addressed the underlying issues lurking in the basement or in the dark recesses of your mind. Without addressing these issues, you will continue to attract circumstances that reinforce your inner struggles. You might adopt the label of a super empath, but deep inside, you may be harboring resentment and lack empathy. This label can provide a convenient excuse for avoiding the uncomfortable truths about your inner world.

Simplify your Healing Journey

If you can let go of all the labels that experts have given you, you will be able to see yourself as a fragile human being who’s simply scared, and actually, that’s a very good place to be in your healing journey.

In that innocence, there is room for deep introspection and exploration without getting caught up in ‘big words.’ You will simply understand that healing isn’t found in labels but in challenging what within you draws you into relationships where you prioritize empathy for others over yourself. For instance, how is it that you identify as a super empath and can sense energies of others aside from your own?

This introspection allows you to look into the root causes of your behaviors and patterns without the constraints of labels. By questioning why you prioritize the needs of others over your own, you can uncover underlying fears, insecurities, and past experiences that drive these tendencies. And that’s how you deal with a narcissist, it’s the same thing another human being will do to deal with them.

There’s no other way to overcome toxic relationship patterns in life; the only way is to confront your pain and release it. That’s the ‘simple’ way — no labels are necessary. It involves challenging the negative beliefs accumulated from the past and not confining yourself with a ‘good’ label, such as being someone who can ‘feel energies of others.’ While a label can provide a sense of belonging and ‘understanding,’ it also creates a beautiful cage that keeps you stuck in life. True healing lies in stripping away those labels and seeing beyond them, embracing your nakedness and confronting your truth.

Once you understand yourself and develop a healthy relationship with yourself, labels like “super empath” or “empath” become irrelevant. Embrace the simplicity of seeing yourself as a human being, learning and growing from mistakes. Stop allowing labels to complicate your understanding of yourself; they only serve as distractions from addressing your inner emotions and challenges.

While labels may offer temporary relief, they don’t provide solutions to underlying issues. Instead of attaching yourself to labels, focus on acknowledging and processing your emotions, fears, vulnerabilities, and boundaries. By confronting the truth of what’s happening within you, you can break free from toxic relationship patterns and foster genuine growth and healing. So, rather than relying on labels, confront the pain you’re experiencing and work towards understanding and addressing the root causes of toxic relationships.
