Today I’ll be addressing the question: What do you do when your abusive ex desperately wants you back? By desperate, I mean they take extreme measures, such as sending you messages every day, apologizing profusely, talking to your parents, friends, and colleagues, claiming they’ve changed their behavior, going for therapy, and even suggesting they might harm themselves or leave if you don’t go back.

In such situations, you might feel tempted to go back, moved by their apologies and desperate pleas. It touches the compassionate center in you, making you think they genuinely love you and mean it this time. However, it’s crucial to recognize that when a relationship grows out of desperation or longing, it’s a significant red flag. Desperate wanting someone is not a gesture of love; it often indicates an attempt to escape deep insecurities and fears.

The strong desire to have someone back is often a way of running away from uncovered pain caused by the absence of the other person. Don’t interpret their desperate pleas as a genuine expression of love; it’s more about avoiding inner pain. Instead of falling for their begging, focus on yourself and understand that it’s okay to let them go. They may find someone else, but don’t let their extreme expressions manipulate you.

Don’t be swayed by statements claiming they love you on a deep level or making it sound like the greatest love story in the universe. Avoid falling for these extremes, as extreme pleasure often accompanies extreme pain. Life is more about finding a neutral balance rather than constantly seeking intense highs. Even if they beg a million times, don’t succumb to it, as you may be enabling them to run away from their pain.

Instead, focus on yourself, work on your own healing, and realize that life is about facing the pain, not constantly seeking pleasure. Don’t fall for their desperate pleas; move aside and let them face their pain. Hope this makes sense, guys.
